Celebration and Certificate Presentation Day
This was a celebration of coming to the end of another successful year of the Horizons Project. The Certificate presentation day gave us a chance to celebrate all our hard work and achievements of this year and the past 13 years.
It was a fun day where everyone in Horizons got together to enjoy a free buffet lunch and to meet up before the summer break.
One of our students has written a brief review of the day:
Certificate day was great - just like all the other ones. But this year it was different. There was the usual buffet and, of course, the presentation of the certificates but we were also selling three different magazines that the students of Horizons had put together. The two creative writing groups in Ore, and Hollington produced "Creative Strangers" and "Fore Thoughts".
In addition there was a publication called "It Opened My Eyes" which contained stories and poems from students from all different classes over the Project. All the magazines were very creative & everybody had worked very hard on them
There were also display boards showing the work of some of the classes - either finished work or details of work done and photos from groups such as Volunteers in the Community.

Here's my poem!
Do a course at Horizons maybe one someone relies on. Come and join us today and you will be on your way. It could be work or maybe fun but you'll be pleased at what you've done. So come on down and bring a friend they will help you to the end. Certification day will soon be here and then you'll have a great big cheer.
